Crowwd, a New Delhi based wealth-tech platform, has raised $260,000 in a pre-seed round from more than 30 investors at an approximate valuation of $5.2 million. Backers include Dr Ritesh Malik, founder of Innov8, Three Words Capital, Sachin Panwar, YogaCleanAir co-founders Deepak Raina and Gaurav Nagar, France based Hexa Startup Studio, Dr Lal PathLabs independent director Somya Satsangi, and Share India Securities managing director Sachin Gupta.
Crowwd began as a social community for retail investors built around a behavioral personalization framework that groups users into investor profiles. The company is now an AMFI registered mutual fund distributor and plans to add a brokerage platform and access to private markets on an introducer basis, moving from a content and community product toward a fuller wealth-tech stack. Ajitesh Gupta is co-founder and chief executive.
The round is a small one by global standards, but it points to continued early stage interest in Indian wealth-tech platforms that pair investor engagement with distribution. For advisors and platforms watching the space, Crowwd's shift from community to mutual fund distribution and eventually brokerage is a familiar path for consumer investing apps building toward recurring, regulated revenue.
