Portage announced the final close of Portage Ventures Fund IV at approximately US$600M.
Portage is a global fintech investment platform with US$7.0B in assets under management, and the close marks a decade of the firm's investments in financial technologies and services.
Over ten years the firm has grown from its flagship Venture strategy into a platform spanning Venture, Growth Equity, and Secondaries strategies, with more than 140 portfolio companies across North America, Europe, and additional regions.
New strategic Limited Partners joining the fundraise include Broadridge and Fifth Third Bank.
Portage operates as Sagard's fintech investment platform and supports founders across wealth management, banking, insurance, and payments.
Adam Felesky, Co-Founder and CEO, said that financial services would undergo a profound technological transformation and that "wealth management is entering the same kind of structural disruption that transformed banking a decade ago."
Stephanie Choo, General Partner and Co-Head of Portage Ventures, said that "fintech has its own rulebook, and generic support won't give founders the edge they need to win."
Knote: This is good news since they are one of the more active WealthTech investors. They have between 12-15 WealthTech investments live, depending on how you count it, including Alpaca, Wealthsimple, and Conquest.
