TD Bank U.S. announced that Hardeep Walia has joined the company as Head of U.S. Wealth, leading the next phase of growth and innovation across its U.S.-based wealth management business.
Walia is the founder and former CEO of Motif Investing, where he spent a decade building a brokerage and investment management platform offering thematic portfolios, direct indexing, and technology-enabled investing solutions.
Following Charles Schwab's acquisition of Motif, Walia built and led Schwab's Personalized Investing Engineering organization and later led enterprise AI for the firm.
Under Walia's leadership, TD Wealth U.S. will expand holistic advice and financial planning capabilities, enhance digital investing experiences, and strengthen the connection between banking and wealth services.
TD Bank U.S. President and CEO Leo Salom said Walia's ability to translate innovation into scalable client solutions will be vital as the bank grows advice-led relationships and strengthens its digital investing capabilities.
Walia previously held senior leadership roles at Microsoft and has served on FINRA's Technology Advisory Committee and Small Firm Advisory Board.
The appointment was effective October 5, and Walia is based in New York, reporting directly to Salom.
