SS&C Technologies released findings from a survey of 148 industry leaders, conducted at its 2026 SS&C Deliver conference, on AI implementation across financial services and healthcare enterprises.
Fewer than half (43%) of organizations surveyed said AI governance was applied consistently across their entire business, and one in five said measuring AI performance and ROI will be critical to success.
Two thirds of participants named AI governance and integration with legacy systems as the top priorities for scaling their AI investments over the next three years, and more than half said workflow orchestration was critical.
Employee productivity was a top AI implementation goal for 87% of enterprises, followed by better client experience (53%), lower operating costs (44%), and reduced operational risk (43%).
48% of respondents expect AI agents to be involved in more than a quarter of their operational workflows within three years, including 18% who expect more than half.
Among firms expecting AI agents in more than half of their workflows, 4 in 10 identified enterprise-wide governance as a top priority for scaling successfully.
SS&C cited WorkHQ, the enterprise agentic automation and orchestration platform it debuted earlier this year, which it said has reduced production and troubleshooting times in key development processes by more than 90%.
Knote: I believe AI Governance will be the hottest topic of late 2027/early 2028. Let me know your thoughts on this as we are working on a white paper. We need to figure this out so collaborators welcome!
