WealthFeed takes its prospecting engine into 401(k) plans

  • WealthFeed, a prospecting platform for financial advisors, added Form 5500 data covering more than 780,000 retirement plans, with plan profiles, opportunity scores and 12 filing triggers that flag events such as 20%+ participant balance growth, a departed advisor or a plan termination.

  • Retirement plans are a proven wealth-client funnel, with 65% of surveyed advisors finding participant conversion easier than traditional marketing, and pairing public filing data with warm-introduction mapping turns a static dataset into a working pipeline.

Mercer Advisors hires Wealth.com’s former CTO to lead data

  • Mercer Advisors, the national RIA with more than 460 advisors and 43,000 clients, named Kyle Pounder, PhD, Vice President of Data, putting him in charge of the core data team behind its Aspen technology platform and its broader AI strategy.

  • Pounder spent five years at Wealth.com, most recently as CTO through its Google Ventures-led Series A and Schwab-led Series B, and the hire signals that the largest RIAs see clean, governed data as the gating factor for AI.

Knote: The most important hire for an AI effort: the Chief Data Officer.

Mercer Advisors cuts alternatives operating costs 40% with Arch

  • Arch, the digital administration platform for private investments, signed a multi-year partnership with Mercer Advisors, which says the work since early 2025 has saved more than 7,000 hours a year and cut the cost of managing client alternatives by 40%.

  • As Mercer has grown from $18 billion to $114 billion in client assets and absorbed family-office holdings through acquisitions, alternatives operations have become a scaling problem that only automated document collection and data routing can solve.

Crypto-linked wealthtechs slide 10% after the midterms

  • Robinhood, Webull, Coinbase and other crypto-exposed names were each off more than 10% at points on November 5 as bitcoin fell 5% to about $76,000 and Democrats’ win of both chambers of Congress took the Clarity Act off the table for the lame-duck session.

  • The sell-off hit higher-growth fintechs far harder than PayPal and Block, and with Senator Elizabeth Warren poised to chair Senate Banking, regulatory risk around crypto and payment for order flow is being priced back in.

Knote: Hackers steal $6.5B in crypto and nothing really happens. Democrats get control of Congress and it's pure havoc. Maybe AI can figure it out.

Mercer Advisors acquires AI-native tax firm Fifteenth

  • Mercer Advisors, the Denver-based wealth manager with $114 billion in client assets, acquired Fifteenth, an AI-native tax and accounting firm whose proprietary platform specializes in equity compensation and complex tax situations, on undisclosed terms.

  • Tax is becoming core to the wealth relationship, with Mercer saying more than half of incoming ultra-high-net-worth clients want it in a unified offering, and Fifteenth’s equity-comp focus lets Mercer reach clients before a liquidity event rather than after.
